The idea sprang to life as a fund raising initiative for One School at a Time. Learners at Forte High School in Soweto were asked what they dream of becoming in the future. Then, they were asked to write an alphabet. Their handwriting was scanned, traced and programmed into fonts and divided into career categories according to the students’ dreams.
The final project saw all 200 learners’ fonts placed in a beautiful collectors coffee table book, which includes pull-out posters, a guide to all the fonts and more insight into the dreams these learners have for the future. Online each of the unique alphabet fonts can be purchased as an investment in the hopes and dreams of a learner, one letter at a time.
